LAHORE, Sept 14: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday directed the Muslim Town police to give protection to a rape victim being threatened by the accused party.

The victim through her counsel pleaded that her neighbour, Shahida Sarfraz, promised her a good job and took her to Islamabad.

She said an FIA assistant director, Burhanuddin, and a businessman, Rasheed, raped her in a guest house of Islamabad.

She got a case registered against the accused and the police arrested them. A sessions court of the federal capital sent the accused on judicial remand.

The petitioner told the court that relatives of Shahida, including Adnan, Sarfraz and Bakhtawar, had been hurling threats to make her withdraw the case. She prayed to the court to order the police to provide her protection.

After hearing the contention, AD&SJ Nadeem Shaukat ordered the Muslim Town police SHO to provide protection to the girl and take action against the culprits.

Another AD&SJ dismissed bail petitions of four accused involved in the murder of a Punjab University security guard. The accused -- sub-inspectors Mian Khan and Zafar Bokhari, PU estate officer Kamal Gill and security supervisor Shaukat Ali -- managed to escape from the court premises.
