LAHORE, Sept 14: Dozens of owners of tyre shops, small factories and warehouses on Friday staged a protest rally outside the press club against the Samanabad Town Municipal Administration for unnecessarily raiding their workplaces and getting cases registered against them on the pretext of on-going anti-dengue drive.

Speaking on the occasion, various owners said the anti-dengue drive had become a headache for them as the officials were not only harassing them but also prosecuting them through registration of criminal cases under dengue regulations.

They said for the last couple of days, the TMA had launched a massive crackdown on them despite the fact they were making efforts to keep their workplaces clean.

They urged the chief minister to take notice of the situation besides taking action against those harassing the shopkeepers and disturbing their business.
