Sacrilegious video: Protesters call for severing ties with US
PESHAWAR, Sept 14: Religious parties on Friday took out protest processions and blocked roads to express their anger over the production of a sacrilegious video by a US pastor.
In Peshawar, people belonging to different religious parties gathered near the press club in separate processions and held rallies on the main Sher Shah Suri Road causing hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic. They also set on fire the US flag.
Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Imamia Students Organisation had organised the rallies.
The demonstrators were chanting slogans against the United States, Israel and their allies and demanded of the government to sever diplomatic ties with America and all the countries where the people had prepared sacrilegious cartoons in the past.
The speakers said the US-led forces were facing crushing defeat in Afghanistan and in a state of extreme confusion they were taking such steps to infuriate the Muslims. They said in the prevailing situation all the Muslim countries should join hands to give a tit for tat answer to those hatching conspiracies.
The speakers said Americans and Jewish lobbies were frequently hatching conspiracies to hurt the Muslims one way or the other, adding the US was behind such dirty people otherwise it would have taken action against such people.
Meanwhile, a Jamaat-i-Islami-led procession at Ashraf Road was taken out from Masjid Mohabat Khan. Speakers condemned the sacrilegious video and said US government was involved in the conspiracy to hurt emotions of Muslims.
CHARSADDA: Leaders and workers of various political and religious parties staged separate protest rallies against the blasphemous film.
The protesters came on streets after offering Friday prayers and blocked the main road at Farooq-i-Azam Chowk. Led by local leaders of religious parties and scholars, the protesters set the effigy of US president on fire to lodge their protest against desecration of the holly prophet and his companions.
They demanded of the government to sever relations with America and expel its ambassador from the country.
MANSEHRA: People from different walks of life on Friday took out rallies to protest against the production of a sacrilegious film.
The protesters holding banners and placards marched on roads to condemn the blasphemous act. They chanted anti-US slogans. Rallies were brought out from different mosques after Friday prayer.
The lawyers also took out a rally from district bar. DBA president Shahjahan Khan Swati condemned the sacrilegious film. He termed it a conspiracy hatched by America to create unrest in Muslim world.
MINGORA: The activists of Jamaat-i-Islami staged rally in protest against sacrilegious film aired in the United States.
The JI local leaders and workers held a march from Green Chowk to Sohrab Chowk, chanting slogans against the US. They also blocked the road amid presence of a large number of police and FC personnel. JI district chief Mohammad Amin, vice-chief Muzaffar Khan advocate and others addressed the gathering. They condemned the Jewish lobby for desecration of the holy prophet. They also demanded death sentence for the Israel-born American who made the film.
