Punters go happy despite brace of upsets at KRC

KARACHI, Sept 16: All but two favourites obliged punters in a seven-race card of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

In the two upsets, three-year-old bay colt Sher Ka Bacha stunned public fancy filly Delightful Diva by six lengths to win the opening event, while bay horse Star To Win made amends by defeating favourite filly See Me World by neck in a photo-finish to pick up spoils in the seventh and concluding race.

Asoor, a four-year-old bay colt, obliged all and sundry galloping to a fluent eight lengths victory over colt racing Fire to win the second race, class V div II and class VI which was also feature event.

Bankable and Dilruba followed the two in same order in a small field of six horses.

Colt La Maafi opened his account while registering a two-length victory over filly Shahzadi with rider Zaki Zakir astride in the
third race.

With back-to-back second places under his belt, chestnut horse Concept returned with flying colours registering two-and-a-half lengths victory over filly Win Money.

Three-year-old filly Dancing Doll made a good running all the way to defeat filly Black Caviar as she pleased by eight lengths to win the fifth race while filly Poonam struck for the second time in succession under its regular rider Asad Aksir by getting the better of colt Mujahid by four lengths to win the supporting event.
