LAHORE, Sept 18: A committee of the Lahore Development Authority on Tuesday auctioned 13 properties.

The auction of four school sites, seven commercial and two residential plots in housing schemes and other places at Rs168.84 million was held at LDA Community Centre at New Muslim Town. LDA vice-chairman Aamir Asghar Dar supervised the process.

A school site at Abdalian Society, measuring three kanals and over 18 marlas, was auctioned at Rs550,000 per marla whereas its base price was fixed at Rs180,000 per marla. The second site situated at Abid Town, measuring two kanals and 12 marlas, was auctioned at Rs280,000 per marla against the base price of Rs210,000.

A site in B-block of Campus View Society, measuring three kanals and eight marlas, was auctioned at Rs260,000 per marla against the base price of Rs200,000 per marla.

A site at A-block of Campus View Society, measuring two kanals and 18 marlas, was auctioned at Rs220,000 per marla against the base price of Rs200,000.

Among the seven commercial plots which were also auctioned, the maximum bid of Rs1.135 million was offered for commercial plot No 422 Block-D2 (Johar Town), measuring 324 square meters. Similarly, price of Rs860,000 was offered for plot No 418 (Block D2, Johar Town), measuring 324 square meters.

Two residential plots of Sabzazaar Housing Scheme, bearing No 715 and 716 (Block-D), were sold through open auction at the rate of Rs285,000 per marla and Rs275,000 per marla, respectively.

DISMISSAL: The LDA administration on Tuesday dismissed its two officials from service and stopped one-year increment of another on charges under the Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act 2006.

Those dismissed were sub-engineer Mugheesuddin and driver Mehmood Alam and the increment of sub-engineer Younas Dar has been stopped.

BALLOTING: The City District Government of Lahore on Tuesday conducted balloting for distributing Bio-Gas Plants among 13 candidates.

Led by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, the balloting committee announced Adnan Nasir, Farmaish Ali, Shabbir Hussain, Nazir Khan, Shafiq Ahmad, Muhammad Iqbal, Nazir Hussain, Salman Khan, Muhammad Tanvir, Muhammad Rafiq, Ali Ahmed, Muhammad Azam and Istafsar Ahmad as successful candidates.

The DCO said they would be provided a subsidy of Rs50,000 per plant by the government.

The DCO also visited Lakshmi Chowk and other parts of the city to inspect drainage of rainwater.

CASES: The price magistrates raided 351 shops on Tuesday and challaned 50 shopkeepers for overcharging and hoarding.

The officials got registered cases against five vendors besides imposing fine of Rs52,000 on others.
