Delhi is a lot like Lahore: Ali Zafar
Ali Zafar on spending time back home, his next movie and his love for Delhi.
During his recent visit to India, singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar, spoke to us about what all he has been upto after we saw him in London Paris New York. He told us, “I was back home in Pakistan and that served as a good break from work as I got to spend quite a bit of time with my family and friends over there. I also went on vacation during this period. We covered Istanbul, Mauritius and London.” According to a report in Times of India.
Talking about his trip to Delhi, he said, “Bahut dino ke baad India aaya hoon, aur kafi achcha lag raha hain apne doston ko mil kar. I love to come to Delhi because it is so much like Lahore. Bahut kum waqt ke liye aaya hoon iss baar, lekin I would love to come back again, very soon.”
Ali seems to be quite excited about his next release – Chashme Buddoor. About the film and his role in it, he shared, “The movie has turned out pretty well and everyone will like it for sure. I really enjoyed acting in the movie.
Earlier, the movie was supposed to be released by Eid this year, but now the release date has been shifted to February, next year.”
Interestingly, Ali has been approached by PFDC (Pakistan Fashion Design Council) to perform at the opening of their office in the capital. “PFDC is planning to set up a huge office in India. It will be in Delhi, near South Extension, and will be a hub for all leading Pakistani designer labels like Asif and Nabeel, Fahad Hussayn, Kamair Rokni, Rizwan Beig, Sana Safinaz, Iman ahmed, Umar Sayeed, Sonia Azhar, HSY, Feeha Jamshed and so on.
The dates of the opening have not been finalized yet,” said Ali, adding, “With the PFDC setting up an office in India, Pakistani fashion designers will now get the opportunity to explore the Indian fashion market.”

Ali is apakistani and is an asset we should be glad and proud of him many great artists like reema khan and others have migrated due to the pressures and non recognition of their talents and inteligence we should not treat any more of our heros
We do not have to justify working of our artists in India by berating Pakistan. Artists are artists. They need bigger following, a better career and more money. Nothing wrong with that. A good artist’s work abroad provides introduction of Pakistan in the good light to millions and is more effective than writing books and bickering in the blogs with limited readership. Zafar is a charming young lad and it is a pleasure to see his work.
Zafar: why do not you take Indian nationality, who needs u here.
Who cares? This guy should move to India.
and why is that ? You should move to saudi arabia
How rude to put a comment like that. Is that all you could come up with?. I always tell my 12 year old son “if you dont have anything nice to say, it is better to keep your mouth shut”.
It’s all about freedom of expression – an ongoing fashionomica – now a days… Ali’s no doubt an awesome figure but there’s something more important to share than this trivia…
glad to see a Pakistani can freely work and travel in India……
Je Lahore nai Vekhya O jammya hi nai
Jin dilli nai vekhi O dunya vich aaya hi nai
Humare zeh-e-nasseb Ali Zafar sahab ko Delhi Pasand aaya…
who are you? a begger in Delhi streets???
@insaan: Poor in taste. Learn to respect your guest.. that is Islam….
r u really insaan? yo dont behave like one.
That was a good One:) The report somehow gave a sense of long awaited approval from Ali Zafar for Delhi’s good being…….
This is hardly surprising. Same people living here and there. The land was same before it was divided.
We should be surprised if say some city in Germany looks like Lahore or Delhi
nothig new , during/after paRTITION MOST OF LAHOREES ARE SETTLED IN DELHI. HOW CAN DELHI BE ANY DIFFERENT THAN LAHORE
LAHORE IS LAHORE no can b like this ok.Dhehli never b like LAHORE OK
DELHI is DELHI you can never compare a big city like DELHI to lahore. It has been the capital of INDIA for thousands of years and is one of the biggest in the world both in terms of area and population.
not necessarily .
lahore and karachi are completely different, with regards to climate, people, landscape, buildings etc….
old delhi is perhaps lot more like lahore….i mean the monument ,culture, food……….typical mughal era type
yes,u r true . But we are ashamed of our past particularly Mughal and british era and don’t want to remain in mughal era of course .
yes , true
yupp … that is clear enough………..
zafar means he likes delhi because it looks like lahore. it means delhi is not much beautiful than lahore. lahore is heart of globe. dont be silly. Mughal era was glorious in the history of sub continent
It seems you have stayed all of your little life in Lahore. That is why you are making such silly statements
If infrastructure wise you are talking then Lahore is no match for Delhi.
Armani ji,
We have to accept our past. We have to learn from our history. there is no need to be ashamed.
we are children of conquerors, why should we be ashamed, those who got conquererd over and over have a lot to be ashamed, and we all know the difference. Yes, history is great, I enjoy reading it…..
are u sure of being a children of conquerors? if that is so then you either have to be with turk or mangolide features. If you are not, then you probably are one of the converted families like 90% of the rest.
What history have been reading Tariq? We are the sons of the Indus Valley Civilization, there is no difference b/w Indians and Pakistanis. You should be ashamed of your hate filled comments and your baseless superiorirty complex.
Steve Job’s biological father is a Syrian. He did not like it.
Why do every pakistani thinks that he is Arab
90% Muslims of Subcontinent are children of people who were conquered over.
DNA reports prove this, Yes they converted to Islam but there forefathers conquered by Turks or Arabs.
and yes History is great, & Pakistani history is the best…..;-)
Jinnah had a Hindu Gene.
So your Leader had Hindu Blood………Just Think ????
But that is a pride for many Pakistani Muslims who claim they have arab genes.
yes, we have
So Jinnah was inferior to You ???
@Vikram: sorry for the immature comments from few sons of invaders. An educated and a mature Pakistani think very differently.
Don’t be silly, Mughal and British era is India’s history and you can’t seperate History from the land. Nobody is expecting you to live in the past. Thanks to historical manuments and buildings, you can relate the historical events that took place and how they impacted the life then and now.
Mughal empire is as much part of Indian history as anything else. Tunnel vision is on the rise among the ‘educated’ Indians these days.
except of course JUD and its likes..
Not that I’m a fan of JUD, but it has numerous charities and old homes spread across Pakistan. It was one of the very few organizations that helped the people of Pakistan during the flood disaster. We cannot ignore or deny that.
