LAHORE, Sept 19: The Railways has got more than 170-marla land vacated from grabbers.

According to a spokesman, the approximate market value of the retrieved land near Sheikhupura’s Warburton station is said to be Rs17 million.

The PR Directorate of Property and Land has been supervising the campaign launched by the railway police on Feb 1 on Supreme Court’s directives.

HEROIN SEIZED: Some 800 gram heroin was seized from a passenger of Khyber Mail.

On suspicion, railways police intercepted a passenger boarding Lahore-bound Khyber Mail at Peshawar station. During search, the police recovered fine quality heroin concealed in two juice packets by Zikria.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.
