ISLAMABAD, Sept 20: Chairman Special Committee on Kashmir, Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday welcomed British member of Parliament Mrs Galloway’s initiative of sending relief goods to the people of Indian held Kashmir.
In a statement, the Maulana said that “Mrs Galloway had played an important role for the Kashmir issue in the past and now her decision to enter the Indian Occupied Kashmir with relief goods for the Kashmiris is a welcome move”.
Other British MPs as well as other politicians and notables of Britain should also support and accompany Mrs Galloway in this noble journey.
Besides, he said they should also undertake other measures to highlight the Kashmir issue as well as to resolve it.
The Maulana who is also JUI-F chief observed that it was their responsibility to get the Kashmir issue resolved because it was their legacy. “Before leaving undivided India (Hindustan), they should have gotten the issue resolved”, he further observed.
Moreover, the English people, like Lord Mountbatten and Radcliff were also responsible for creating this dispute, which is not a matter of honour or pride for Britain, said the Maulana. — Ahmad Hassan
