Sick sheep and black sheep
IT is surprising and alarming as to why the consignment of sick Australian sheep was allowed to land on the Port Qasim and shifted to a private farm house.
When the authorities concerned knew that the sheep are infected with a deadly virus for human consumption, they must have disallowed the import.
Or, they should have kept the sheep in transit and have arranged for the lab test of the sheep on board and must have sent the consignment back to Australia.
Secondly, the cost of disposing of the sheep must be recovered by the local partners of Wellard Rural Exports or the people involved in allowing the offloading of the whole consignment.
Eidul Azha is approaching fast. The whole scenario needs to be dealt with an sternly as there seems to be something fishy in the whole scandal.

Bad consignment
INSTEAD of culling and burying imported sheep in Karachi, they should have been sent back as ‘bad consignment’ at the cost of exporters.

The answer is simple. Stop eating meat like any civilized human being and above all else, stop your barbaric method of slaughter that you call “hallal” It is nothing but the most disgusting manner of inhumane treatment of animals.
The whole consignment should surely have been sent back at the cost and charges of the importer. This would have saved tax payers money spent on culling etc. The commissioner saheb needs to announce the total amount spent on culling for public knowledge and should also recover the same from importer. Why should citizens money be spent and why should the importer be left alone without suffering any consequence of his actions.
It is not just the Pakistani exporters who export sub-standard goods, even Aussies play havoc with people’s lives by exporting sick animals to Pakistan.
Whole consignment must be disposed off properly quite before eidul azha, as the virus may be spread in other cattles.
Good one. I completely support the thought.
