PESHAWAR, Sept 21: Prominent ulema, including Maulana Naseeruddin and Maulana Latif Shakir, have described violent protests as against norms of Islam and appealed to people to remain peaceful in registering their protest against anti-Islamic film produced in the US.

Maulana Naseeruddin appealed to people of the country to get united to foil nefarious designs of the enemy who wanted to create instability in the country.

Damaging public and private properties is a violent act and against the Islam teachings, he said and advised ulema to preach peace to people to maintain order and avoid damage to properties.

“We condemn, in the strongest terms, the incidents which are against all human and Islamic norms,” said Maulana Naseeruddin.

Maulana Latif Shakir said that all Muslims ought to be united against all those who terrorised the innocent and permitted the killing of non-combatants without a justifiable reason. Islam has declared the spilling of blood and the destruction of property as absolute prohibitions until the Day of Judgment, he said.

Maulana Shakir said that it was necessary to apprehend the perpetrators of such crimes, as well as those who aided them through incitement, financing or other support. They must be brought to justice in an impartial court of law, he said. — APP
