KARAK, Sept 25: The district development advisory committee (DDAC) on Tuesday approved the Rs430 million worth of projects to be completed by using oil and gas royalty.
The approval came during a meeting of the committee, where provincial minister Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel was in the chair and PML-N MPA Mehar Sultana and officials of relevant departments in attendance.
The minister directed the heads of government departments to produce details of completed and ongoing development schemes.
The committee approved Rs190 million for public health engineering department for drinking water supply schemes in PK-40 constituency and Rs120 million for Banda Daud Shah Tehsil Municipal Administration for execution of development projects.
It also approved Rs90 million for communication and works department for construction of roads and buildings and Rs2.5 million for supply of electricity to villages.
The Rs140 million development funds for PK-41 constituency were not approved due to absence of local MPA Malik Qasim Khan Khattak.
The DDAC chairman directed the public health engineering deputy director to prepare PC-1 for ‘Gravity Drinking Water Supply Scheme for Jatta Ismail Khel and adjacent localities’.
He also issued directions for preparation of PC-1 for the construction of small dams in Makori and Ahmadi Banda and a mini dam in Kotal Hills adjacent to Karak city.
The said deputy director was also told to prepare PC-1 for the sinking of 10 tube wells in Karak city to resolve shortage of drinking water.
