KOHAT, Sept 27: Two brothers were killed when a bus collided with a van on Indus Highway near Lachi town here the other day.

The van was coming to Kohat from Karak when it collided with bus near Lachi. As a result, two brothers, identified as Rehmat Shah and Bashir Shah, were killed on the spot. The bus driver fled soon after the accident.

Lachi police impounded the two vehicles and have started investigation into the accident.

NEW ALLIANCE: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has decided to form an alliance of religious parties for contesting upcoming general elections.

The ASWJ chief, Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Lodhianvi, told reporters here on Wednesday that local government elections were a ploy of the rulers to postpone general election, but they would thwart any such move.

He announced that they would form a larger alliance of religious parties, including Difa-i-Pakistan Council, for contesting general election.

BOARD EXAMS: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, has announced that intermediate supplementary examinations will be held from October 2, 2012.

In a statement on Wednesday, controller of examinations Mohammad Ali Marwat said that students who had not received roll number slips should contact his office by Sept 28. —Correspondent
