LANDI KOTAL, Sept 28: Christian community in Khyber Agency on Friday observed a day of fasting to express solidarity with Muslims and condemn the profane movie by an American national.

Chairman Khyber Agency Christian Community Arshad Masih told Dawn that some two hundred families living in Landi Kotal and Jamrud observed the fasting on Friday and kept themselves refrained from all types of eating and drinking.

Arshad Masih said that Christian community throughout Pakistan was fully behind Muslims and understood the pain and agony they were passing through after the making of sacrilege film by a lunatic.

We hope the US government will take appropriate action against the maker of the anti-Muslim film and would prevent the occurrence of such blasphemous acts in future, he hoped.

Arshad Masih also demanded of the government to help provide security to the worship places of other religions in the country.

PESHAWAR: Members of the She-Male Association (SMA) held a protest rally to condemn the anti-Islam movie at Sher Shah Suri Road on Friday. They called for awarding death penalty to the filmmaker and others involved in the sacrilegious act.

The demonstrators, led by their leaders Neeli and Farzana, had gathered in Gulbahar Square and then marched towards the Peshawar Press Club wherein they registered their protest against the insulting film made by the American citizens.

They were holding placards inscribed with anti-US slogans and demands for the Muslims’ leaders and Ummah to unite against those who were hatching conspiracies against Islam.

They were also raising slogans in favour of Islam and against the US president.

Talking to media persons, the transvestites said they were also Muslims, and could render sacrifices for the honour and dignity of prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

They asked the government to raise voice against such cursed people at the international level.
