PML-N will resist delay in elections: Nawaz
MANSEHRA, Sept 28: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that his party would resist any move by the government to postpone coming general election.
“We would not allow President Asif Ali Zardari to postpone the coming elections as it would be unconstitutional and against national interest,” said Mr Sharif while speaking to reporters here in Oghi on Friday.
Mr Sharif, who had come to offer fateha for the departed soul of wife of his servant Abdul Hameed in Doggai area in Oghi, said that if the government was thinking of any such unconstitutional step (postponement of general election) it should think hundred times about it, as “neither his party nor the people of Pakistan would allow them to go for any extra-unconstitutional step”.
Answering a question, the PML-N president said that it would be premature to say whether or not his party would go for an election alliance with any political party in coming election.

In reply to a question, the former prime minister claimed that there was no rift in his party ranks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
