LAHORE, Sept 30: The city district government has asked the Lahore Transport Company to link various bus routes with the newly-established terminal near Thokar Niaz Beg in order to facilitate the passengers’ approach to the new facility.

“We have told the LTC to link all buses plying on various routes with this bus stand so that the people could reach the terminal easily on time,” District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said during a visit to the bus terminal here on Sunday.

He said the terminal was equipped with state of the art facilities. Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Nadia Saqib and other officials, he expressed his satisfaction over the construction work and material used to build the facility.

He said other buses being run under LTC regulations on various city routes would also be linked to the new bus terminal for passengers’ convenience.

SHAHPUR: Keeping in view the problems being faced by the people at the newly-established Shahpur Kanjran Cattle Market, DCO Mengal directed on Sunday to complete all missing facilities at the market within a month.

“Infrastructure for facilities like clean toilets, parking, water supply etc at the market must be complete within a month for the convenience of cattle traders, butchers and customers,” he directed the officials concerned during a visit to the market and the new abattoir.

He urged cattle traders and butchers to cooperate with the district administration for making operation of the new abattoir successful in order to supply hygienic meat to the citizens.

On a complaint, Mr Mengal ordered the Iqbal Town TMA to also construct a mosque at the market.

He said he would not allow any sort of slaughtering in the city other than the new slaughterhouse.

The DCO said he would take action against those who were still reluctant to shift businesses of cattle trade and slaughtering to Shahpur Kanjran. —Staff Reporter
