KARACHI, Sept 30: Pakistan Muslim League-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said his party would side with the majority in Sindh Assembly on the local government bill.

Talking to newsmen after a meeting with Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House, he said he exchanged views with Sindh
government leaders on the current situation in the country with particular reference to the province.

Later, the PML-Q chief called on PML-F president Pir Pagara.

After the meeting, Pir Pagara told reporters that he discussed the possibility of unifying PML factions because only a united Muslim League could steer the country out of the crisis.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also visited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s headquarters, commonly known as Nine Zero, and exchanged views with the MQM leadership on the political situation and the strategy for the next general elections.

Kunwar Khalid Younus, Shoaib Bukhari, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Haider Abbas Rizvi and other MQM leaders received Chaudhry Shujaat who was accompanied by Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Jam Mohammad Yousuf, Naseer Mengal and Ghaus Bakhsh Mahar.

Scores of MQM workers showered the members of the PML-Q delegation with flower petals.

The meeting lasted about half an hour and talking to media personnel, Chaudhry Shujaat said no single party was in position to solve the problem of Balochistan by itself.

He said when he was prime minister he had formed a committee with representatives of all parties to work out ways to resolve the issue. The committee had presented a detailed report which was not implemented. Implementation of the report could have improved the situation in
the province.

PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the MQM and his party were partners in the past and now that the elections were approaching the two parties would work together.

Answering a question he said the PML-Q parliamentary committee would take a decision whether to support or oppose the new LG system in Sindh.

MQM leader Nasreen Jalil said cooperation between Chaudhry Shujaat and MQM chief Altaf Hussain would continue in the future.
