KARACHI, Oct 3: A number of women on Wednesday staged a protest rally near Mazar-i-Quaid against the hate film, ‘Innocence of Muslims’.

The rally was organised by the Karachi chapter of the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) women’s wing.

Addressing the participants in the rally, Karachi JI Amir Mohammad Hussain Mehanti and other speakers demanded a global ban on the film. They said that the respect of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and also other prophets of God was an integral part of the Muslim faith and there should be no comprise on blasphemy.

They criticised the US and other western countries over their inaction on the film issue. They appealed to the people to boycott their products. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.—PPI
