KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad has said that the Government is taking revolutionary measures for improvement in health sector to provide better health facilities to the people.

He said while speaking as chief guest at a seminar in connection with Health Sector Reforms Support Unit (HSRU) here on Thursday.

The Governor said that all resources would be utilised to provide effective health services to the people of the province.

He said that an effective strategy would help bring improvement in health sector and with the establishment of HSRU in the province, the Government will be able to make health care system more efficient.

Sindh Health Minister Dr.Saghir Ahmed, speaking on the occasion, said that the provincial government is taking practical steps for improvement in the health sector.

He said HSRU would help evolve a comprehensive health strategy, and assured that all available resources will be used in a better way for the welfare of the people.

Dr. Saghir stressed the need for making long and short term planning for human resources development, disaster management, economic affairs, District Health Care system, primary health care (PHC) and maternal child health and against different diseases including polio.

HSRU chief Kiran Nauman said that the unit will help in providing better health care facilities to the people of the province.

Later, the Governor formally inaugurated the HSRU (unit).

Members of Sindh Assembly, Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Abbas, Secretary Health Aftab Khatri, diplomates, officials of World Health Organisation (WHO) and USAID were also present on the occasion.
