KHAIRPUR: Lawyers of the District Bar Association (DBA) took out a procession on Saturday in protest against the Sindh local government law and burning of a black coat by some unknown persons.

Wearing black armbands and led by DBA president Manzoor Hussain Ansari and Ali Ahmed Shahani, the protesters marched on various roads to reach the Punj Gulla chowk in Khairpur.

Speaking on the occasion, lawyers termed the LG law a ‘black’ law. They said they would continue their struggle and observe a token hunger strike.

They condemned the burning of a black coat and attack on young lawyer Asad Ghumro by some unidentified persons on Saturday night.

They demanded early arrest of the attackers and said such attacks could not discontinue their struggle.
