LAHORE, Oct 10: Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said the beauty of Lahore is being destroyed in order to sell the iron of a foundry.

“A ruler who is depriving the people of their livelihood has no right to be called Khadim-i-Ala, and he should better be called Qatil-i-Ala,” the governor said while talking to a delegation of traders of Kot Lakhpat fruit market at the Governor’s House here on Wednesday.

“They (Sharifs) have destroyed Lahore’s beauty only to sell the iron of their foundry. They launched various projects like sasti roti, Daanish schools, yellow cab, Ashiana housing scheme and Metro Bus Service only to give favour to certain people,” he said.

Commenting on writing a letter to Swiss authorities, Khosa said those who wanted a clash between the two institutions were disappointed. He said the next general elections would be free and fair, as interim setup would completely be independent.

The governor also condemned attack on Malala Yousufzai terming it a cowardly act. — Staff Reporter
