PESHAWAR, Oct 13: Like other parts of the country, the lawyers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa boycotted court proceedings to protest attempt on the life of national award winner Malala Yousufzai.
The member of Peshawar District Bar Association remained away from court proceedings on the call of Pakistan Bar Council. They hoisted black flags to condemn the attack and expressed solidarity with Malala.
In Mansehra, lawyers observed boycott and private sector educational institutions remained closed in protest against the attack on peace activist Malala.
The district bar association has given a call for the boycott. The lawyers in the district didn’t attend courts.
Shahjahan Khan Swati, president of Mansehra District Bar Association, and others office-bears condemned the attack on Malala and demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
The management of the private schools also observed strike and all educational institutions remained closed in the district.
In Karak, members of Karak District Bar Association and Takht-i-Nusrati Tehsil Bar Association observed complete boycott of court proceedings against attack on Malala.
The members of district bar association gathered at barroom to hold a meeting with its president Jan Alam in the chair. They expressed concern over increasing terrorist acts in the province.
In Abbottabad, lawyers stayed away from court proceedings to condemn attack on Malala Yousufzai. Most of the private schools in the district also remained closed to protest the attack on Malala by the terrorists.
