Zero Dark Thirty might easily be the most controversial and polarising film since Passion of The Christ.

Written and directed by Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow and her friend Mark Boal, the film is expected to be about the fateful night of the raid that killed the most wanted man in the world: Osama Bin Laden.

This film's got everything, politics, intrigue and the best part, a true story. It'll likely be called propaganda and part of a liberal media agenda to re-elect President Obama, though it's releasing after the election.

Many Republicans in the United States have accused the Obama administration of leaking classified information to the filmmakers to aid them in making this movie.

What Bigelow's intentions are in making this movie are really only known to her, but if I'm a filmmaker this movie is about as huge a film-making opportunity as it gets.

What I do know is that this movie is totally in Bigelow and Boal’s wheelhouse. Their last effort was the Hurt Locker, and setting aside any personal opinion as to its politics, it was certainly a well-made movie.

Going by the trailer, Zero Dark Thirty looks like everything it's expected to be — a suspenseful, intense account of what supposedly went down to hunt down and kill the most wanted man in the world.

But it also adds something else, that this movie might not be exactly what we expect it to be.

It introduces the character of a mystery woman (Jessica Chastain) — a female CIA analyst who played a central role in the mission that brought bin Laden down.

The truth is everybody's got their own idea of what really happened. It's almost like the JFK assassination all over again.
