MQM-H activist gunned down

KARACHI, Oct 14: A political activist was gunned down by unknown motorcycle-riding attackers in K. Area of Landhi on Sunday night.

Another man and a four-year-old girl also suffered injuries in the attack.

Police said that they came under attack when they were standing on a main road within the remit of the Awami Colony police station. The attackers fled, said police.

The wounded were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Mohammad Saleemuddin, 30, was pronounced dead while Mohammad Safdar and Imran, 4, were admitted for treatment.

Saleemuddin was later identified as an activist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement. A party spokesman said Saleemuddin was in charge of Unit 75 of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi).
