MIRPURKHAS, Oct 16: The district and sessions court of Mirpurkhas set free 15 bonded labourers, including eight children, after recording their statements here on Tuesday.

Hero Kolhi filed an application in the court complaining that his 15 relatives, including women and children, were detained at the farmland of landlord Noor Mohammad Gujjar in the village of Ambalo near Naukot town.

He said they were engaged in bonded labour.

On the court’s order, the SHO of Naukot raided the village of Ambalo on Monday and recovered the 15 detained peasants. On Tuesday morning, they were produced in the sessions court.—BoC
