KOHAT, Oct 16: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has said that construction of new bridge over the Indus River at Khushalgarh will prove a milestone in accelerating economic activities in the entire region.

About 50 per cent work on the project was completed that cost Rs450 million, he said while addressing Kohat District Bar Association after inspecting the Khushalgarh project site on Tuesday. He said that the project would be completed within the stipulated time.

“I have been personally watching execution of the project since its launching. It is also my sincere hope that the project will be completed without any delay,” the governor said.

He was accompanied by Provincial Minister for Housing Amjad  Khan Afridi, Kohat Commissioner Sahibzada Mohammad Anis and other senior officials during his visit to Khushalgarh.

Mr Kausar said that maintenance of peace was the foremost requirement and it became become possible at a cost of unmatchable sacrifices offered by officers and personnel of security forces and people at large.

The governor also mentioned extension of Political Parties Order to Fata and termed it an achievement. “We salute the courage and spirit of our security forces and the people. Inshaullah the process of development and progress will continue in future too,” he added.

Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of Darra Adamkhel, the governor said that peace should be the first priority of tribal people and they should guard their land against terrorists.

He offered prayers for the victims of the recent suicide bomb blast. He said that the government would compensate the heirs of deceased and injured.

The delegation consisted of Malik Amaullah, former MNA Haji Baz Gul Afridi, Malik Jamalistan and Malik Fazl Abbas.

The governor said that government had decided to establish Fata university over the piece of land marked for industrial estate. Another piece of land would be acquired for business community and showrooms of arms and ammunitions, he said.
