Sherpao to rename party

Published October 17, 2012

PESHAWAR, Oct 16: The Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao leadership has decided to formally announce change of party name and colour of flag at a workers convention to be held at Hayatabad on Wednesday.

A party source said that several meetings had been held during the past several months to discuss the new name and colour of party flag.

The final announcement in this regard, he said, would be made by the party’s chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan at the workers convention.

The basic purpose of the changes, he said, was to focus on the plan for raising voice for the rights of Pakhtuns and work intensively for the restoration of peace in the province.

He said that that several names had been chosen but majority of the party leaders wanted ‘Qaumi Watan Party’ as the party’s new name.
