‘India has not confirmed schedule for series yet’: PCB
KARACHI: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet sent the final schedule of the Pakistan-India bilateral series proposed to be held in December this year, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf said on Friday, DawnNews reported.
Addressing a press conference, Ashraf said that India had not finalised the schedule for the series which is supposed to be played in two months’ time in India.
The series, which will comprise three one-day internationals and two Twenty20s, is the first in five years between the two neighbours. The proposed series is to be played in December-January when England, who are due to tour India later this year, return home briefly for Christmas and New Year.
The arch-rivals have not played a series since Pakistan’s tour of India in 2007, after cricket ties were snapped following the 2008 terror attacks on Mumbai.
The Indian and Pakistani cricket teams have only met in international tournaments since 2007.
They clashed in the World Cup semi-final in the Mohali, India last year, a high-profile game that was attended by the prime ministers of the two countries.
They also played during the Asia Cup in Bangladesh in March and more recently during the World T20 in Sri Lanka.

Don’t count the chickens before the eggs are hatched.
Shame on you Mr. Zaka Ashraf, you are trying to convince india to play like you boss Mr Zardari. You are not welcomming the other international players who are already in KARACHI.In urdu ghairat bhee koi cheez hai.
Mumbai Attack wounds are not yet healed. Indians don’t want or need a cricket match with Pakistan
Good Job India………
Pakistan must not beg India for the game series. Prestige and integrity of Pakistan should be kept alive. We make offers but if India does not want….let it be. Our team’s moral will remain high even we do not arrange matches with India.
kaun si integrity beta…
It is evident that India is not too keen at this stage. Better to postpone.
i hope this series will not go through pak needs to pay attention to their batting and needs to send their team where their batting can improve like eng/aus/sa and also send their young batsmen like azher, umer, asad to play english county or aus domestic cricket playing against india on dead pitches and against below par bowling is just waste of time
Have some professionalism PCB. Stop talking through media and sort your issues out through proper channels
Well said.
Series against any major team is important so why attach extra importance to India, Pakistan Cricket team draws big crowd wherever it plays, they should concentrate on improving their game and stop players politics. Much needs to be done in batting, fast bowling and fielding, if they can lift their game a little more their ranking will improve in all forms of cricket. They are the most dangerous side capable of upsetting the number one team in any form at any time.
Why is Pakistan so keen on playing a political series ? This series is being forcibly planted between a very important India-England Series. India and Pakistan should play a full series of 3 Tests, 5 One days and 1 T20 at a later stage. What is the rush ?
It is a meaningless series. I, for one am not very keen on it going through. I hope India says: “lets meet some other time”. Zaka just want to promote himself by arranging this series. It serves no purpose for the game.
Yes I think India should arrange a “meaningful” series with Sri Lanka instead!!!!
But it will serve some purpose for Mr. Zaka
