GUJAR KHAN, Oct 20: Various colleges of the city and the bar association received buses and vans here on Saturday from the prime minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf.

Raja Javaid Ashraf, patron in chief of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Raja Imran Kami, general secretary of PPP Gujar Khan, handed over the buses to the principles of various colleges and office bearers of the bar association at Sarwar Shaheed Government College.

Mr Javaid said the prime minister was conscious of the students’ predicament and had dispatched vehicles for their convenience. He said the PPP had always been a student friendly party, adding that students were the future of Pakistan and lawyers were the custodians of law.

As per details, Sarwar Shaheed College was provided with two Isuzu buses and two Suzuki vans. Government College for women received two Toyota Hiace vans and two Suzuki vans. Government Degree College for boys Daultala received two Toyota vans and a Suzuki van, and the Gujar Khan bar association was gifted a Toyota van.

The Bhangali Village also received two well equipped ambulances.

Furthermore, a well equipped computer lab, with ten solar-powered computers, was established at the Potohar Press Club on the directives of PM Raja Pervez Ashraf. The promised van for the press club would be delivered later and extension of the press club building was approved.
