QUETTA: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan chapter announced on Monday the extension of the doctors’ strike against targeted killings and kidnappings of doctors for an indefinite period of time, citing lack of response from the government as their reason, DawnNews reported.

Earlier, the PMA had called for a three-day strike in Balochistan’s state-owned hospitals and clinics to protest against the kidnapping of Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan and the targeted killings of two other doctors. However, due to the lack of response from the government, the strike continued on Monday.

The doctors claimed that the government had neglected the issue of Dr Khan’s kidnapping and the targeted killings of doctors despite the strike.

The protesting doctors took out a rally from the PMA House to the Governor House outside which they staged a sit-in.

The patients continue to experience severe difficulties with the ongoing strike.
