LAHORE, Oct 26: Pakistan film industry is going through such a bad slump that only one Punjabi film will be released on this Eid. On Eidul Fitr four movies were released.

Sher Dil has been directed by Iqbal Kashmiri starring Saima and Shan. The particular thing about this release is that it has been released with 17 prints, a rare phenomena when it comes to Punjabi movies. In the past, one would see release of Punjabi movies with only five to seven prints. Seventeen prints mean that the film will be released in 17 cinema houses across Punjab.

The Pushto film industry will release four movies in Khyber Pakhtunkwa.

As far as foreign movies are concerned, there is no Hollywood movie on this Eid; while in the case of Bollywood two Indian movies — Rush and Chakravyuh — were released on Friday.

Rush is a 2012 Bollywood thriller, a film directed by the late Shamin Desai. The film features Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Pancholi, Neha Dhupia and Sagarika Ghatge.

Chakravyuh is a Bollywood political thriller directed by Prakash Jha starring Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Manoj Bajpai, Kabir Bedi, Anjali Patil and Esha Gupta.

New plays are also being staged in different theatres of the city. — Staff Reporter
