Shortage of cash

Published October 26, 2012

CHITRAL, Oct 26: Employees of government contractors were stressed out on Friday after local banks didn’t accept their salary cheques due to shortage of cash.

The affected people, mostly daily wagers, regretted that they and their families would have to spend Eid without money. Said Khan said he visited the relevant bank for withdrawing money against a cheque issued by the C&W department but got no money due to unavailability of cash.

He said like him, more than 65 labourers, too, had been denied cash by banks.—Correspondent
