PESHAWAR, Oct 26: Pakistan Television, Peshawar centre on Friday recorded an impressive Eid Show in which singers enthralled audience.
According to a news release issued here, the show to be aired today (Saturday) on both PTV National and PTV Home was hosted by actor Babrak.
At the show, popular singers Janas Khan, Nadia Gul, Shabnam, Dilraj, Musharraf Bangash and Shahzad Khayal, the youngest son of Pashto ghazal maestro Khayal Mohammad, sang songs and received great applause from the audience.
Young MBA student from Quetta Waheed Achakzai stole the show by singing traditional ‘athanreez’ song, while Musharraf Bangash moved the hearts of the audience by singing a poem versifying grief and courage of Pashtuns living abroad away from near and dear ones.
The release said Musharraf's heartrending song summary was that despite being away from their families and friends, poor Pashtuns always kept up glory of their country and honour of their identity and never lost their courage working hard day and night.It further said although his poem said that on Eid day, Pakhtun expatriates remained very sad but still when they phoned their parents giving the impression that they were very happy and feeling good despite being away from them.
Janas Khan sang popular Pashto folk song ‘Pa Ru Ru Kegda Qadamoona Laila’ (walk around slowly O! my darling).
Shabnam, a new singer, failed to impress the audience but Nadia Gul, a famous CD and telefilm artist, made her mark by signing a song.
Shahzad Khayal sang an old song of his legendary father Khayal Mohammad and got a standing ovation for the audience.
It was his debut song on PTV, Peshawar Centre.
