KARACHI: Unannounced load shedding of natural gas continued despite the authorities' claim of providing relief to the consumers during the Eidul Azha holidays, DawnNews reported on Sunday.

Authorities had announced an exemption on gas load shedding during the four-day holidays celebrating the Eidul Azha. But contrary to the claims even the hotel businesses in different areas of the city were not spared from the prolonged gas load shedding causing immense hardship to the owners and daily waged earners employed at the eateries.

Consumers complained of the adverse affects suffered by their businesses on account of the prolonged suspension of gas supplies.
