LAHORE, Oct 31: Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa called on PML President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and MPA Moonis Elahi at their residence here on Wednesday.

They discussed the political situation in Punjab and the coming by-elections.

The governor said the PPP’s alliance with the PML-Q was not ‘temporary’. “We give great importance to this alliance as both parties will contest not only the by-election but also the general elections jointly,” he said.

Shujaat said his party’s alliance with the PPP was not for personal gains, but in the larger interest of the country and it would remain intact.

He said like by-election, both the parties would field the best candidates through seat adjustment in the general elections. — Staff Reporter
