KARACHI: A local court of Karachi ordered the investigation officer on Friday to submit final charge sheet pertaining to the Karachi factory fire case, DawnNews reported.

Judicial Magistrate of Karachi’s western district showed displeasure over non submission of the charge sheet by the investigation officer. The magistrate granted 14-day deadline to the officer to submit the final charge sheet.

The owners of the garment factory Ali Enterprises, where a fire killed at least 258 people, pleaded that they were facing financial problems because their accounts were frozen by the authorities.

Police in Karachi had registered a murder case against the owners of the factory on Sept 13.

The owners demanded that their accounts should be made accessible to them so that they could be able to pay their rent and school fees of their kids.

The hearing was subsequently adjourned till Nov 12.
