PPP,JUP-N enter electoral alliance

LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party and Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (Niazi group) have joined hands ahead of the on coming general election.

The electoral agreement was reached and finalised in a meeting of JUP (N) delegation,led by its president Pir Syed Masoom Hussain Naqvi,with PPP Punjab President/Federal Minister for Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo at his residence here on Friday.

PPP sources said this electoral agreement has materialised during the third round of discussion between the two parties.

A two-member committee comprising Dr Amjad Hussain (JUP) and PPP Punjab General secretary Tanvir Ashraf Kaira was formed to finalise future strategy in this regard.The committee will present its recommendations soon to their leaderships.

It is pertinent to mention here that JUP-N was coalition partner of PML-N in the past.

JUP central secretary general Dr Amjad Chishti,JUP central information secretary Pir Israr Sherazi and the party's finance secretary Asif Butt,PPP Punjab General Secretary Tanvir Ashraf Kaira and PPP Ulema Wing president Allama Rai Muzzamil Hussain also attended this meeting.
