GHALANAI, Nov 1: Three local people were bitten by a stray jackal in Kattar area of Haleemzai tehsil on Thursday when they were busy in work at their fields.

The stray jackal came from the nearby mountains and bit Mir Wali (75), Narai (85) and the grandson of Mir Wali. The victims were shifted to Peshawar hospitals where they were administered anti- rabies vaccine. Later the jackal was killed by the local people with stones and sticks.

Due to non-availability of anti-rabies vaccines in the agency headquarters hospital Ghalla-nai the victims were shifted to Peshawar, a local resident told Dawn.—Correspondent
