ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Saturday took serious notice of inappropriate delay of more than 24 hours in Hajj flights of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and issued a show cause to its management.

According to a notice issued by the ministry, the PIA management has been asked to explain reasons for delay in flights.

A penalty will be imposed by the ministry if PIA failed to give convincing reasons for the delay.

The notice also reminded the airline to ensure the smooth functioning of Hajj flights operation so that inconvenience in the arrival of pilgrims shall be avoided.
