KARAK/KHAR, Nov 4: Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman has termed attack on Malala Yousufzai a drama, saying she hasn’t received any injury in her head.
Addressing the Islam Zindabad Conference here on Sunday, he said that he was grieved over attack on Malala but thousands of other daughters of the nation including Dr Aafia Siddiqui were victims of the flawed policies of the government.
The JUI chief said that the rulers were so loyal to the US that they sought approval of Americans for devising internal, external and economic policies of the country.
The conference was attended by a large number of people from the southern districts and other areas of the province.
Mr Rehman said that the province was turned into a battleground but the perpetrators could not be identified and brought to justice. He said that there was no government in Karachi as 15 to 20 people were killed on daily basis in the economic capital of the country.
He said that the Pakhtun nationalists, who were claiming to hand over books to children instead of guns, had miserably failed to fulfil their pledge. He said that JUI did not believe in armed struggle or use of force for enforcement of Sharia in the country. He added that they believed in political and democratic struggle.
The JUI chief said that the recommendations put forward by Islamic Ideological Council 40 years ago were being ignored by the parliament while the suggestions made by NGOs were implemented within days.
He claimed that JUI didn’t receive funds from ISI. A single member of JUI hadn’t benefited from NRO, he added.
Mr Rehman alleged that the ANP government was the most corrupt one in the history of the province. He said that restoration of peace and development were top priorities of his party.
Former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani also addressed the conference.
In Bajaur Agency, local leaders of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam demanded of the government to abolish Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) and introduce Islamic laws in the tribal areas.
Addressing a public meeting at Gabari area in tehsil Mamond on Sunday, they said that the reforms introduced in FCR by the government couldn’t meet the aspirations of tribal people.
JUI general secretary Maulana Abdur Rasheed, Maulana Zakirullah Khan, Maulana Mohammad Noor, Maulana Hanifullah and Qari Noor Ali addressed the public meeting.
They said that religious people of tribal areas rejected the FCR reforms. “We reject these reforms because it is a joke with tribal people in the name of changing system,” they said.
The speakers demanded of the government to introduce Islamic regulation in tribal areas because majority of the tribesmen wanted Islamic laws. “Islamic law is the best system of governance as only Sharia can provide justice and basic rights to all citizens,” they said.
On the occasion, a large number of local tribesmen announced to join JUI.

I am not condoning violence but there should be enough immunition to try him in courts for working against Pakistan's interest and hang him. And lets find other ignorants and kill them all taliban style. Hang them or shoot then in public setting after finding them all guilty in courts.

Totally agree with you. Getting rid of this filth is the most important task for Pakistan and Pakistanis. He should not be arrested for making anflatory speeched. Undue & extended coverage to Malala's case put some doubt. In a country where hubdreds of Malalas have died in the recent past, giving so much coverage to this single tredegy points towards certain direction. Even international singers took notice of this incident. Anyway whatever the central idea behind this international coverage, it did rightly not convert into escalation of fight in North & South Waziristan. Pakistan cannot afford more fights & chaos. They will go leaving Pakistan in quicksand as was visible after the soviet war.

One has to be absolutely blind (with a completely closed mind) to suggest that a 14 years old girl (an activist for girls education) was shot by TTP (which admitted through messages, TV, Radio broadcasts) and over the telephone) is a drama. I wish people like you could see beyond your nose (where in the Qur'an it is suggested that girls should not be educated?) It is because of mindset like you which is dragging Pakistan into the black hole.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman is living in a dream land of Halwa, on one hand he enjoys very comfortable life style due to his government position and the other hand he comes out and criticize government. Maulana Fazlur Rehman is strange character he was with Zia-ul-Haq, Nawaz Sharif, Bibi Jee, Musharaf and now Zardari. He has no stand but he doe make useless statements. He is against Drones attack but he was always part of government and did nothg, he is against corruption but he has received lucrative contract. His political base is mostly Mullah type not very educated people with very little knowledge of Islam and they got nothing to do with science and technology. There was timee JUI was consider a religious party buy now they have completely lost popularity in Baluchistan and in KPT they are failing big time. Maulana Fazlur Rehman made silly statement against Imran Khan that Imran Khan is working for the west but in reality Wikileaks statements show that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was ready to do anything if the west put him in charge of Pakitan. The statement about Malala Yousufzai is very insensitive and he should be ashamed. Even though I believe that Malala is being used by the enemies of Pakistan to further create problems in Pakistan but the reality is that a innocent girl was targeted by evil dowers and it gave a excellent opportunity to the enemies of Pakistan to push their agenda in Pakistan. For Maulana Fazlur Rehman I have advice he should retire because now he has no political future in Pakistan and people of Pakistan know it well that he good for nothing.

The attack on girls still stands as an undeniable reality regardless of what Fazalluah says now.Can he deny that the blood pool of school girls in the van was a reality? Can he say that the attack itself never existed and it was a 'drama' ? No, he can't and he knows that he can't. He waited weeks for public anger to settle so that he could say what was hidden deep inside in his heart. Pakistanis should reject such politicians with colourful LOTA HISTORY (like his turban !) and defeat them with their vote power.

JUI has no interest for the benefit of the people of Pakistan. JUI joined the PPP government just for their personal benefit and interests. In Islam, all Muslims are equal and a single party then why these Maulanas have made divisions. If they cannot stay together and pray behind each other
