KARAK, Nov 5: Two bullets-riddled bodies were found on a roadside in Surdag area of Karak district on Monday.

Officials said that local people informed Latambar police about the presence of bodies along Kohat-Bannu Road in Surdag. Police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to district headquarters hospital in Karak.

Officials said that police also found an identity card with the bodies that identified a deceased as Hashamuddin, a resident of Salaray area in South Waziristan Agency.

Police also recovered a chit from the pocket of the other deceased. The chit carried accounts of stone crushing business and address of Taji Kallay area in Bannu district.

Meanwhile, seven passengers sustained injuries when a Karachi-bound bus collided with a car near Jaama Kallay Chowk on Indus Highway. The injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital.

They were identified as Rahim Jan, Asmat, Khursheed, Ziauddin, Ashraf Khan, Sardar Ali and Zohaib Khan. Three of the injured were referred to Peshawar owing to their precarious condition.

JI LEADER: Renowned religious scholar and leader of Jamaat-i-Islami Maulana Minhajuddin died after protracted illness here on Monday. He was 95.

Maulana Minhajuddin was an active member of Jamaat-i-Islami. He was imprisoned along with JI founder Maulana Maududi in 1948. He had been put behind the bars on several occasions owing to his political struggle.

Maulana Minhajuddin remained JI chief of Kohat district in 1977. He also remained chief of JI in Karak district for 10 years. He had contested election for National Assembly seat from Karak on JI ticket in 1987.

He had taught Hadith in JI headquarters Mansoora in Lahore for quite long time. He had received religious education in Deoband, India.

The funeral prayers of the JI leader will be offered on Tuesday at 11am and he will be buried at his ancestral graveyard in Sangtri Mithakhel.
