I WOULD like to draw the attention of the ministry of education towards an issue related to Makran University. The university currently has only three degree programmes, i.e. BCom, BAA and BS (CS). Many students belonging to Makran are financially weak. However, they bear the expenses of studying in other cities, such as, Karachi, Quetta, Lahore or Islamabad for the sake of attaining their desired degree.

It has been observed that many students belonging to Makran are interested in the social sciences such as sociology, mass communication, international relations (IR), political science, history and education which are not available in Makran University. While staying out of their hometown during their academic period, they have to spend much money, i.e. university fee, hostel fee, mess fee as well as travel expenses.

However, I being a student belonging to Makran had to come to Islamabad to study just because my desired degree programme (mass communication) wasn’t available there. I request the authorities concerned to establish more degree programmes in Makran University.
