Yes, but only from 1971 to 1974. After that Imran was his partner and Asif Masood played sparingly ( as did Naseer Malik and Sikandar Bakht later) and became a shadow of his initial self. He retired after the Australian tour of 1976 under Mushtaq.

Marvellous. I still remember Haroon Rahim partnered with either Saeed Mir or Munawwar Iqbal for a Davis cup tie played in Pakistan against Australia( Tony Roche and someone else). The first set went to 14 -14 before the Australians broke ahead and won.
Do you think Obaidullah Aleem and Jon Elia belong here. Maybe a part III?

Fantastically written. How can I read the Part I? I am an Indian and is in love with columns published
in the Dawn as I can visualize Pakistan and feel its people through these writings. Also, if possible, please bring back Ayaz Amir as a regular columnist.
