ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) said Thursday that a dossier has been sent to the Afghan officials and International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) on the issue of Maulvi Fazlullah. The foreign office has also received response from them; it would be soon shared with the people, the FO added.

Pakistan’s FO spokesman Moazzam Khan was giving a weekly press briefing in Islamabad.

He congratulated the President of the United States Barrack Obama on his second time election in the White House. He said that the foreign office was in negotiations with the Obama administration over the issue of drone attacks in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan’s policy has not been changed on the issue of US drone strikes in the country. The solution to the problem should be acceptable to the both parties.

D-8 summit

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will visit Bangladesh today as a Special Envoy of the President Asif Ali Zardari, he informed.

The spokesman said that foreign minister will deliver the invitation addressed by the president to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, inviting the latter to participate in the forthcoming 8th session of the D-8 Summit being hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad on November 22.

Earlier, Khar visited Cairo on 31st October as a Special Envoy of the president to deliver invitations from him to the President of Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Morsy, for participation in the D-8 Summit, Moazzam Khan said.

He said that Pakistan has also invited Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sigh for the conference but his schedule of arrival has not been finalised as yet.

The foreign office spokesman clarified that the visit of Iranian vice president was postponed because of his other engagements. His visit would be rescheduled, he added.

Anti-Narcotics conference

Pakistan will host two day regional anti-narcotics ministerial level conference Nov 12th and 13th in Islamabad aimed at controlling the menace of production of drugs in the region, the spokesman said.

Ministers of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Russia and Uzbekistan would participate in the conference.

Swiss letter

The foreign office spokesman also confirmed that the FO had dispatched the letter in relation to the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case to authorities in Switzerland, which was written in accordance with an order of the Supreme Court, on Nov 5.
