ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: The capital police arrested four persons including two drug peddlers from different parts of the city, and recovered narcotics, liquor and weapons from them, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

According to the details, the Golra police foiled an attempt of smuggling narcotics and recovered three kilograms of hashish from a person who was trying to transport the consignment from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to Punjab.

Similarly, the Tarnol police, in response to a tip off, recovered 1.1 kilograms of hashish from a drug peddler as he tried to smuggle it from KPK to Punjab, which led to his arrest. The Ramana police also arrested a bootlegger after confiscating two bottles of wine from his possession.

The Kohsar police intercepted a man on suspicion at a checkpoint and subsequently recovered a 30-bore pistol along with eight bullets from him, leading to his arrest.

Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigations are in progress.
