ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said on Thursday that the coalition of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) with Pakistan Peoples Party would continue during the next general elections.

“The current alliance with PPP is very strong and in the next polls we will support each other to strengthen democracy in the country”, he said while addressing the business community of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) here.

He said the PML-Q is feeling more comfortable with the current federal government as compared to previous alliances.

“I think our alliance of past 14 years with others have gone wasted”, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi remarked.

Elahi said that the representation of the ICCI in CDA  board is necessary and he would talk to President Asif Ali Zardari to solve    this issue.

Criticising the Punjab government the deputy prime minister said that the current provincial government has ended many useful projects initiated by his government during the last tenure of PML-Q.

He said the Punjab government is wasting funds on flop schemes like taxis, tandoors and laptops.

“The education sector cannot be strengthened by distributing laptops among the students, there is a need for establishing new educational sectors which would have a long term affect,” he added.
