ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: The Women’s Regional Network held a dialogue on ‘Women building peace within and around us’ with women and men peace activists and human rights defenders from Afghanistan, India and Pakistan on Friday.

Recognising the commonality and critical nature of the issues regarding insecurity arising from extremism, terrorism, militarisation, militancy and corruption, the participants discussed the need for concrete and doable recommendations and action plans for women to build peace.

It was stressed that we need the active participation of men as partners in this joint struggle, as well as bringing in younger women, minority women, those living with disabilities, the poor and marginalized sections of society from the rural and remote and conflict-ridden areas.— A Reporter
