The most important part of managing a society with "minorities" is developing an attitude of mutual acceptance. When that is successful, the minorities tend to disappear, not from being stamped out, but from blending into a single society. Once upon a time, it was frowned upon for people of different faiths and races to marry. Now, it is common place in most developed nations, and it is this that gets rid of the prejudices. In Pakistan, think if a Hindu married a Muslim, the children will not be brought up to hate either religion. Will a Pakistani hate the US, if they have grandchildren who are US citizens?
