In today’s terrorised Pakistan it is not easy for commoners to gather to listen to folk poetry without risking their lives. I’m not from Lahore I was born and brought up in Karachi where terrorism is apparently at its peak. I have seen the good and peaceful days in Karachi. People would enjoy their lives in different ways. Some would go to Clifton Beach, others would go to cinema or any other place of their liking. I certainly wish that peace and harmony prevails in the city of Karachi forever.

I live in Canada, I was very young when I left my beloved Lahore. And al though Lahore might have changed, I read poetry, and remember the many gardens everyday, but I hope it hasn’t changed much, as I loved Lahore, and want those times for my friends and next generations to enjoy too!

Our society’s connection with their history and norms is diminishing day by day . That’s why frustration is increasing within us and we are lost in trying to find who actually we are and where we belong to.
