Why should it be distributed to poor farmers? Why not poor urbanites? Why not the poor salaried class who have been paying taxes?

Also if someone owns land, why snatch it from him? What was his crime? Owning land?

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh do you have any idea what is happening in Karachi. What tax you are asking to pay, when there is no safety of human being in Karachi ? You and your government have not been able to provide the people of Pakistan with basic amenities. NO Safety, NO electricity, NO …….. and the list goes on. Your government only wants to remain in power, with or without principles, which is the root of the problem. Just to be in power the government gives free hand to their coalition partners, which is the main problem. The interior minister always blames foreign elements or someone else – okay, now what have you done in these 4+ years about it ?

100% agreed with you, plus what about the 300+ other parlimentarians out of which majority does not pay taxes, why does the government start with them. How long will these people live on our efforts.

Agriculture & farm tax is essential. Poor farmers are getting enough to feed themselves while hefty amount is pocketed by the land owners. There should be a land reform allowing to own land up to a reasonable limit. The remaining land should be distributed to poor farmers to produce more food.
