It’s high time that concrete action is taken to streamline the overall condition within PIA including, but not limited to, stoppage of recruitment on political basis. People at the helm of affairs in PIA must have a minimum criteria for eligibility to the coveted position and that criteria must be implemented in true letter and spirit without any political interference.

PIA has always been badly managed.

I was interviewed for a Finance job in 1974. The Balance Sheet contained a huge spare parts inventory. While discussing with somebody in PIA, I came to know that when PIA management replaces planes it does not sell related spare parts. Imagine the financial charges incurred on these obsolete parts, and also the storage and handling costs involved.

Late departures is a crime as it attracts airport charges, etc.

Employing people who are not producing is another disaster.
